(Reuters) Germany’s Green Party wants citizens to have safe sex—even when the sex is with themselves.
Maintaining good sexual health requires more vigilance than using condoms and making sure to pee right after doing it. A new paper from Germany’s Green Party called “Sexual Health as a Consumer Protection Issue” calls upon the German government to help promote safe use of sex-toys, reports Der Spiegel.
The paper warns that many sex toys including “dildos, vibrators and anal plugs” contain large amounts of toxic substances like plasticizers (additives which give dildos their penis-like flexibility). When absorbed through mucous membranes these dispersants “can lead to infertility, hormone imbalances, diabetes and obesity.”
If true, the Green Party’s claims must come as an ultimate buzz-kill to the estimated 20% of Germans (kinky!) who regularly use sex-toys. It seems like everything and anything with the power to arouse will either kill you or get you pregnant—unless, of course you wrap it up.
Condoms, in fact, are a suggested antidote to the problem. After calling on the German government to release information on the topic, as well as a plan for regulating plasticizers, the Green Party cited the Danish government’s warning which “urges users of vibrators, artificial vaginas and other such items to first cover them with condoms and to avoid models made of PVC.”
The German Government doesn’t seem particularly roused about fighting toxic masturbation. Their response to the Green Party’s paper pointed to insufficient scientific evidence to support their claims, and added, “Moreover, a national government is not capable of regulating the flow of products, much of which comes from Internet orders and imports,” cited Der Spiegel.
Nonetheless, “the use of phthalates and other toxic substances in plastics will likely only be allowed in products for a limited time to come, because Germany and other European Union nations have suggested the introduction of an approval procedure,” they continued.
If there is a takeaway here, it must be to wrap it, no matter what “it” is, before having any fun with it. While condoms can be a buzz-kill they have to power to prevent STDs and unwanted pregnancy, and, when used on a dildo, can reverse-protect by preventing infertility.

the best and safest option is to use glass sex toys, maybe of pyrex type glass that can also be warmed or chilled for different effects… BUT there is also the problem of nasty chemicals and preservatives in lubes

There so much fun and excitement with these sex toys, the

partner. It seems that sex toys become a powerful weapon of sex and a toy that
give the greatest pleasure in sex but using this without taking care is so
risky.
