Oklahoma Girl Gets Brand New TARDIS [Video]

Sci-fi nerds unite after her first police box-shaped bus stop was stolen.

Never underestimate the power of Whovians. Several weeks ago, Kaity Ladevaia, a young girl in Little Axe, OK, was the victim of a terrible theft — someone stole the custom-built bus stop she had in her yard. The stop was in the shape of a TARDIS, the time-and-space-traveling vehicle from the British sci-fi series “Doctor Who” which is famously disguised as a a bright blue police phone box from the 1950s.

So be on the lookout for a tall, lanky, brown-haired man wearing a bowtie and possibly a fez. He may be the prime suspect. It’s not yet clear whether he stole the TARDIS or the TARDIS stole him, but he might be referring to the box as “Sexy.”

Actually, this girl didn’t need any help from the Doctor because she got it from the internet. A group of people on Reddit, led by Anthony Pego, who has been a theft victim himself, rallied and built her a brand new box. People from all over the US and Canada donated time, money and supplies to get Kaity her new TARDIS.

Now she can comfortably wait for the bus inside her new police box. Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear to be bigger on the inside, but it does have some security features. The new version is chained up with cameras watching it. That must be in case they can’t hear the TARDIS sound as it disappears if someone tries to take it again. Check out a local news piece on the story below.
