The perfect soundtrack for a downbeat midsummer day.

London’s Vondelpark, our latest “Believe the Hype” featured band, have been spot on at capturing the downbeat vibe of mid-to-late summer in New York — a time when people have attended enough barbecues to last the entire year and the threat of continuing heat drives hordes away, leaving an eerily empty city.

Maybe Vondelpark wrote and named their “NYC Stuff and NYC Bags” EP after this time in the city? (Probably not) But, whatever the case, “Hipbone” and the rest of their hazy electronic tunes serve as the perfect soundtrack to this downcast time.
