jj grab the reigns in this collaboration with Ne-Yo for Adult Swim’s Singles Program.
“We Can’t Stop” is technically a collaboration between Swedish airy-popsters jj and Ne-Yo for Adult Swim’s Singles Program, but the swede duo (thankfully) do most of the heavy lifting.
The track begins with an ornate build-up highlighting jj’s subtly haunting sound and vocalist Elin Kastlander’s captivating, Nico-like speak/singing. It all, unfortunately, leads to a Ne-Yo verse that sounds so out of place it ruins the vibe of the tune. But then, at 3:50, jj loop one of his vocals, turn him down in the mix and transform an awkward verse into a thumping outro. The rest is bliss.

My opinion Ne-Yo verse switched it up and took it to a soulful level, and the collaboration was awkward when I first read about it, but hearing it blew me away.It was like hearing two stories rolled into one lustf saga. There’s definitely nothing wrong with this track, they both killed it.
