The Weeknd has released a new mixtape, “Thursday.” Stream it in full here.

Late in the day yesterday 2011′s most-hyped new artist The Weeknd released a free new mixtape “Thursday.” So here we are on Friday morning, enjoying a first listen to “Thursday.”

The Toronto nouveau R&B crooner had been promising “Thursday” would be coming soon (although we’re pretty sure it was originally announced as “Thursdays”) along with another mixtape to be called “Echoes of Slience” coming this fall.

“Thursday continues” in the same vein as debut mixtape “House of Balloons,” with ethereal R&B falsetto vocals over a dark, somewhat brooding palette of rock guitars. Title track “Thursday” is mellow and down-tempo. After one cursory listen we may suggest the second track “Life of the Party” as a favorite.
