Sarah Palin is STILL Playing Coy About Running for President

Sarah Palin is apparently “on the verge” of deciding whether to run for president. Does anyone still care?

Earlier this year, Sarah Palin began dropping strong hints she’d be running for president by offering her own televised rebuttal to Obama’s State of the Union address. She took the opportunity to make her second gaffe about Russia (that they won the space race and went broke for it 40 years later) and thrust herself once again onto the national political stage in proper Palin style.

But after a summer bus tour remembered mostly for a now famous goof about the story of Paul Revere and a summer movie about her that flopped at theaters and went straight to cable and video on demand just a week after premiering, it looked like she’d been lapped by newer entries to the Republican race.

After Palin didn’t get into the race by the time the other candidates were stuffing their faces with fried food in Iowa for that caucus’ first straw poll, it was widely speculated that she was finished.

But wait! There’s was more! Palin eventually announced that she was giving a “major speech” on Labor Day in Manchester, NH—a key battleground state for the Republican primary. What’s more, she got Christine O’Donnell booted from the lineup the day before the event, ostensibly to keep the attention focused on herself. Surely this was it—the day Palin was finally going to get into the race.

And then…nothing. As is usually the case with speeches that don’t involve bastardizing elementary school-level history lessons or seeing other continents from her house, the content of her remarks was quickly forgotten. All anyone can remember is she didn’t announce her candidacy for president. After that all that hype, she just fizzled out.

But wait! There’s even more! The ‘New York Times’ is now reporting that Palin is currently “on the verge” of deciding whether to run. ”

In a letter to donors late last week, Tim Crawford, the chief of her political action committee, wrote that Ms. Palin is ‘on the verge of making her decision of whether or not to run for office.’”

Although the suspense might not be killing anyone. A national CNN poll released within the last week showed Palin earning just 7% support in a hypothetical run against the other Republicans currently in the race.

According to the ‘Times’ Palin has kept her campaign plans shrouded in secrecy since when she formed her PAC news spread overnight. Not even Palin’s aides have an inkling if she’s running. But this secrecy may be overkill, as Republican primary voters seem to have lost interest.

Either way, she has to make a decision by October 31 or it will be made for her. That’s when Florida draws its deadline for new entrants onto the primary ballot, and Palin would have no hope of winning the nomination without being on the ballot in Florida.

So the Palin saga will end soon enough. But however it ends, in a recent poll she did manage to clock in just 5% behind President Obama in a hypothetical 2-way match-up. And that, if nothing else, will have Republicans cheering for Sarah Palin.

All Sarah Palin needs to do is show up at the Republican Convention, and she will be offered the nomination by popular acclaim on the first ballot. She is the Conservative Queen, the Populist Princess, and the patriot’s pick for President in 2012.

     Palin doesn’t need to
be our president.  The salary isn’t
enough for her and she’d just abandon the post like she did in Alaska.  Do you want someone in office whose main
focus isn’t on the people but on her bank account?  What Sarah’s after is fame and fortune and
everything that goes.  See the ways she
    sells herself at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2011/06/ecstasy-of-sarah-palin_15.html
