The Drums release the newest video from their new album “Portamento.”

Before the release of their second album “Portamento,” The Drums released a teaser video for the album that was eerily minimal, with some black and white imagery and a few electronic loops.

With the album’s release we were pleasantly surprised to get more of The Drums‘ signature The-Strokes-meets-The-Cure balance between poppy and pathos, but it seems the band is sticking with the minimal approach for the album’s videos.

“How It Ended,” a pleasantly sad up-tempo single, features Johnny Pierce walking around London looking vaguely bummed, with a melange of textural shots and and close-ups of architecture that blend into textured patterns. The old-timey sepia ’70s tone helps embellish the melancholy.
