Danny Glover at Occupy LA: He’s Not Getting Too Old For This Shit

Watch Roger Murtaugh give a rousing speech at the Occupy Los Angeles rally.

A L.A. protest is never complete without a celebrity cameo appearance, and what could be better than a speech from protest enthusiast Danny Glover? Absolutely nothing fires up a crowd for a day of sign holding and repetitive chanting than a pep talk from the manager in “Angels in the Outfield.”

Occupy protests are beginning to sprout up all over the country. The movement that started in Manhattan’s financial district has spread like wildfire in recent weeks. Americans have rallied around their collective frustrations with the Wall Street’s financial companies going unpunished for collapsing after economy.

Rallying around the motto, “We are the 99 percent” Americans are begging lawmakers to make the Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynches of the world accountable for their greed and our country’s recession. Our nation’s frustrations have reached a breaking point and protesters demand for their voices to be heard. Nearly everyone has been effected by the actions of America’s wealthiest 1 percent. Now, we’ve finally organized to demonstrate our inability to remain quiet.

Most of Hollywood is comprised of some pretty outspoken liberals and Mr. Glover is among them. Although his acting career is on a bit of a slide as of recently, he is still an extremely recognizable face in the industry and his presence increases the mainstream awareness of the clause. Glover has an extensive history as an activist, that includes multiple arrests. In Los Angeles, his speech appeared to be impassioned and heartfelt as the Occupy protesters looked on attentively. Glover implored the crowd to be “24/7 warriors” for the cause.

Hell, I’m so inspired I might even make a sign and sit in a park for the rest of the day. Roger Murtaugh may have been too old for crime fighting and Mel Gibson’s shit, but one thing is for sure, he has a lot left in the tank when it comes to protesting.

Hello! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any problems with hackers? My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing months of hard work due to no data backup. Do you have any solutions to protect against hackers?
