Republican Women Prefer Mitt Romney, ‘Scared’ By Herman Cain Presidency

New poll numbers showing little support among women come at a particularly bad time for Herman Cain.

With his handsome face and well-coiffed hair, it’s unsurprising Mitt Romney’s a hit with the ladies. A new Fox News poll, via ‘The Hill,’ shows that 23% of the Republican Party’s female voters prefer Mitt Romney over all of his competitors. In second place is Herman Cain, whom 17% of ladies say they support. A CNN poll showed a similar trend in four early voting states. “Romney significantly outperformed Cain with female Republicans in every contest save South Carolina. In Iowa, where the two contenders are statistically tied, Romney took 28 percent of female voters and Cain got 17,” reports the ‘Washington Post.’

The same is true in Iowa. From the ‘Des Moines Register:’ “Men give Cain his first-place showing: 26 percent prefer him; Mitt Romney gets 18 percent. (For women, it is almost an exact flip; they prefer Romney 27 percent to Cain’s 17 percent.)”

Though Cain’s Fox News numbers are still ahead of other rivals — Ron Paul received love from 12% of GOP women, and Rick Perry garnered 11% — it’s more than likely allegations he sexually harassed and paid off two women will hurt Cain’s numbers among women.

Even more telling: only 4% of women polled by Fox News said they would be happy if Cain wins the White House; 20% said they would be “scared.” Probably even more so now.
