Watch the New Tom Waits Video ‘Satisfied’

Waits is still making great junkyard rock in this clip for the “Bad As Me” track.

Tom Waits is one of the few artists in the indie blogosphere whose increasing age is actually a boon rather than a burden. Since “Swordfishtrombones” in 1983, the man’s sound has evoked the image of an old hobo banging on pots and pans while slapping around a guitar with missing strings coming out of a buzzing, barely functioning amplifier.

Such is the case with his new song “Satisfied,” featured on “Bad As Me,” his first record of new material in seven years. The video is directed by Bob Dylan’s son, Jesse, and features Waits clapping and dancing about in a fenced-in area, his face being cast back in forth from light to dark, as a bright lamp flickers on and off. No plotline needed, just some good old fashioned blues performed by everyone’s favorite craggy old singer. Check it out below.
