Islands will be releasing a new album early next year, and they’ve unveiled the very first track. “This is Not a Song” is somber and soft, with a hint of blues and a heaping pile of introspection.
Frontman Nick Thorburn said back in October that the new album, “A Sleep & A Forgetting,” is more personal than anything he’s made before, having written it after the end of a relationship. The record will be out February 14, which is an interesting choice given the subject matter.
