Newt Gingrich Snags the Coveted Pro-Adultery Endorsement
Eternal skeazeballs Ashley Madison put up a billboard celebrating Newt’s indiscretions.
Finally Newt Gingrich has captured the most sought-after of all political endorsements: the slimeball cheating spouse vote.
The “extra-marital dating site” Ashley Madison put up the above billboard celebrating Gingrich’s multiple dalliances outside of his marriages. The text reads “Faithful Republican, Unfaithful Husband. Welcome to the Ashleymadison.com Era.” Considering this is a company that recently published ads saying it’s a perfectly good idea to cheat if your wife has put on weight, this isn’t really an era we need to be heading for.
“Now that Newt is the leading contender in the race for the GOP nomination, we felt compelled to make a point to illustrate how times have changed when a serial divorcee/adulterer is capturing the hearts of the American people,” says Noel Biderman, the CEO and founder of the affair site.
Now, for the most part, as long as it’s not sexual harassment or some other illegal act, I think politicians’ personal sex lives are largely irrelevant — except maybe in cases where it contradicts their own platform. But considering what kind of damage an extra-marital affair can do to a campaign, getting the thumbs up from a site that makes its living helping people commit various acts of infidelity is probably not something any politician is after.
Not even Newt Gingrich.
