Kim Jong Il’s other son wrote a poem about a world without nukes

As we’ve known for a while now, Kim Jong Il chose his youngest son Kim Jong Un to succeed him as the incoming ruler of North Korea. Though Kim Jong Un may only be 28 or 29 (no one knows for sure), which many believe is far too young for a ruler, the late Dear Leader’s two older sons, Kim Jong Nam, 40, and Kim Jong Chol, 30, have proved themselves unworthy of the job. Nam, a known playboy, embarrassed the family ten years ago when Japanese officials caught him entering Japan with a forged Dominican Republic passport and a Chinese alias with the apparent intention of visiting Tokyo Disneyland. Chol, apparently the sensitive, “feminine” brother (and a “great fan” of Eric Clapton), is far too not-evil to rule the Communist country.

More to that point, BuzzFeed tracked down a poem middle son Kim Jong Chol wrote under the pseudonym Chol Pak in 6th or 7th grade. In the poem, “My Ideal World,” Jong Chol imagines a world with “no weapons and atom bombs,” “no drugs” and no religion. Which is basically John Lennon’s “Imagine,” minus the drugs.

Here is said poem, via IHeartChaos:

If I had my ideal world I would not allow weapons and atom bombs any more.

I would destroy all terrorists with the Hollywood star Jean-Claude van Damme.

I would make people stop taking drugs.

I would even destroy the word “DRUG” to make people forget about it.

I would make everybody get good jobs.

Everybody would be happy: no more war, no more dying, no more crying.

Then I would make a rule (Do not believe in God.) God doesn’t help and there is no God.

I would make people believe in themselves, and they would work hard for their happiness and success waiting in their future.

I would make the whole world use only one language, which would be Korean, and I would make all people have the same amount of money: no rich people, no poor people.

Kim Jong Chol (and Nam for that matter) is sort of like Dr. Evil’s son in “Austin Powers”: just not that interested in being evil.
