Listen to what might be a previously unreleased Radiohead demo

This is still unconfirmed, but if it’s true it would be pretty cool. A track has surfaced that is supposedly an unreleased Radiohead demo from the ’90s, which is rumored to be titled “Putting Ketchup in the Fridge.”

There is a definite feel that’s reminiscent of the band’s “Pablo Honey” and “The Bends” era. The vocal line has the right range and the backing band has the right cadence and sound to it. It certainly sounds like it could be legit. But then again, it could just be a really good imitation band. If it’s fake, then whoever did this is a better Radiohead knock-off than Coldplay.

Check out the track below.

The production is too clean. I
don’t buy it, although the song is great. There’s not enough “Pixies”
grit influence in there (often supplied by Johnny Greenwood). Also, Thom Yorke’s voice always breaks apart ever so
slightly, and lyrically it doesn’t quite follow anything he was
doing during that time. Not enough self-loathing, or 1st world paranoia.
