Solar Bears return with the first single off of their forthcoming LP “Supermigration.” We spoke to Solar Bears’ John McElheron in April 2011 about the passing of Broadcast’s Trish Keenan, and one can perhaps sense a little of her influence in “Alpha People,” which features the vocals of Sarah P of Keep Shelly In Athens. That said, this is very much a Solar Bears track from front to back, and certainly one of the strongest songs of this apocalyptic year of 2012.
The track features electric piano similar to the Wurlitzer used by both Supertramp and Daft Punk on the track “Digital Love,” with Solar Bears’ distinctive synthesizer work swirling about the sonic field.
