Listen to The Magnetic Fields’ first single from ‘Love at the Bottom of the Sea’

Today The Magnetic Fields unveiled the first single off their upcoming album “Love at the Bottom of the Sea,” out March 6 on Merge records. The song, “Andrew in Drag,” is pure Stephin Merritt, full of lighthearted, witty lines about lusting after the only girl he’s ever loved, sung in his famous melancholy bass. “The moment he walked on the stage, my tail began to wag, wag like a little wiener dog for Andrew in drag,” he croons.

“Love at the Bottom of the Sea,” the band’s tenth full-length album, will be the first with Merge since “69 Love Songs” and will resurrect the synthesizer sound we loved so much in the ’90s. Check out the track list and tour dates here.
