Last night Icelandic siren Björk stopped by “The Colbert Report” to play a track from her app-gone-wild new album, “Biophilia.”
“Cosmongony” is one of “Biophilia”‘s more somber songs, but that doesn’t mean she still doesn’t go all out on it. Complete with an all female choir and a guy playing four iPads, it’s a pretty euphoric performance of the hymnal-like song.
Björk also took a moment for an interview (shot after her performance but aired before), where she and Steve Colbert talked about “Biophilia”‘s multi-media formats and the benefits of touch-screen songwriting. Colbert has a little trouble shutting off one of the apps that lets you play digital harp with one of the songs at one point which is pretty funny. They also talk about American and Icelandic folklore in regards to the belief in ghosts and elves respectively.
Check out the performance and the interview below.
