Oh god, Dave Matthews is touring again

Dave Matthews has sold 17 million concert tickets. Seventeen million people. That’s about 1/10th the amount of people who voted in the 2008 presidential election. Therefore, in theory, Dave Matthews is a swing vote. If that doesn’t scare you, imagine this: Dave Matthews will be touring in the year of another presidential election, warping your brains, tryin’ ta make you think different. And do you want that? No. You don’t.

The tour starts May 18th in Woodlands, Texas and ends September 9th in Mountain View, CA… although it will undoubtedly truly end in tears, anger, and resentment towards oneself and one’s peers. You can click here for the full list of tour dates or you can have some class and start drinking wine, perhaps. Or maybe stop listening to bands with “fiddle-funk” anywhere near their definition.

Or perhaps take a note from this guy in the video below. He might have a few things to say about your Matthews fixation. It’s time to take a stand against being into bad music, man. Although one time I met Dave Matthews and he swore a lot so that was nice, actually. It was sort of like seeing Pooh Bear swear a lot.

Supporting acts include Avett Brothers, Brandi Carlile, Edward Sharpe, and the Magnetic Zeros, Fitz and the Tantrums, Carolina Chocolate Drops, The Head and the Heart, Blind Pilot, SOJA, Delta Spirit, Tower of Power, and a band called Lettuce – which is a terrible name for a band.
