The pro-Obama super PAC Priorities Action USA posted shockingly low donations earlier this month, only about $59,000 in January, leaving many of the president’s supporters worried he would lose the money race to his Republican rivals. Well, fear not, Obamaites, because politically inclined comedian Bill Maher is riding in for a bit of a rescue.

During his “CrazyStupidPolitics” show streamed n Yahoo! last night, Maher announced he is giving $1 million to the Priorities Action USA, even though he thinks their name is “unfortunate,” which it is.

“I would like to tonight announce a donation to the Obama Super PAC—which has the very unfortunate tongue-twister name ‘Priority (sic) USA Action… I know, it was named by Borat. But tonight I would like to give that PAC one million dollars,” he said, complete with an imitation of Dr. Evil. The giant check brought out on stage says it is for “kicking ass.”

Though Maher doesn’t always agree with the president’s tactics, like his cozying up to business interests, the funny man definitely doesn’t want to see any of the Republicans win the White House. CNN reminds us that he told Anderson Cooper he thinks the GOP contenders have “horrible society killing ideas about America.”

Save for Ron Paul, the candidates “act like god created the world in January of 2009, and then Barack Obama completely screwed it up.” He also told Cooper that he thinks Mitt Romney will win the Republican nomination and that the president “is going to beat him like a runaway sister wife.” And this $1 million super PAC donation may help make that joke a reality.
