
Bon Iver’s new video for “Towers” is like a flip-book of accoutrements that Brooklyn hipsters have come to covet over the last three years: Woods, beards, boats, flannels, chickens, old pickup trucks, and what looks like fishing gear. The old guy in the video who wanders through the woods in his perfectly-worn Greek fisherman’s cap and his classic rubber galoshes doesn’t actually end up going fishing; but hey, neither do urban hipsters, so who’s counting?
Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon is having an incredible year, winning a Grammy for Best New Artist after insisting the Grammys was the kind of institution that would never honor an artist like himself. Like his music, the “Towers” video, directed by NABIL, is gorgeous and detail-oriented, and looks like it was crafted with extreme care. Take a look below.
