NBC decides Ron Paul no longer important enough for embedded reporter

Ron Paul has never received as much press attention as his campaign rivals, but now it seems there will be even less. Politico reports that NBC News has pulled Anthony Terrell, the final reporter embedded on the Paul campaign trail, so that he can come back to civilian life at MSNBC. Terrell has been the only journalist shadowing Paul since at least January.

But this doesn’t mean that the other networks are totally giving up on Paul. Fox News’ Hunter Ryan says they’ll cover him, but only if the candidate does something newsworthy, which may not be that likely: “Paul doesn’t have as many events right now as the other candidates in the race…. He is focusing on certain states. I am planning on covering him [with] a combination of embed and bureau resources.”

It’s not just news outlets that are moving on from Ron Paul. A weekly survey from Pew’s Project for Excellence in Journalism shows Paul’s losing ground where he was once uber-popular, Twitter:

Omg he looks so sad there. We need a reporter so we can find him to give him the hugs he so desperately needs.

It's incredibly wrong that they ignore him. It is their duty to give full, honest, unbiased coverage, and yet they sneak around his existance. Regardless of one's ideaology or partisanship (I have none) everyone should be upset about this. I was behind Romney until I heard about either Gingrich or Santorum falling to fourth place and went, "What? Fourth? Who else is there?" and then realize that Ron Paul is the man we need. Ron Paul 2012. May Americans elect a true Patriot.
