Last night, aside from playing “Simple Song,” which was broadcast at the show’s usual 12:30 musical performance spot, The Shins went on to play a full hour long set for a small audience of fans, which was filmed for CBS’ “Live on Letterman” series. Notice how Dave always seems to make time to say hello to a cute female member of a band—e.g. his handshake with Jessica Dobson—over any other member besides frontman James Mercer.
