Aoife McArdl directs the latest Simian Mobile Disco music video, “Seraphim,” crafting a fantastic look with oddball characters taking Polaroid photos of stove tops, staring at birthday cakes, doing pushups in the front yard at night, pouring wax on skin, flipping lights on and off, and reading books such as George Bernard Shaw’s “The Intelligent Woman’s Guide to Socialism and Capitalism.”
“Seraphim,” the lead single from Simian Mobile Disco’s forthcoming album “Unpatterns” (out May 15 via Wichita Recordings), finds the duo of James Ford and Jas Shaw creating a experimental and hypnotic dancefloor anthem for late nights.
