I use to have a neighbor who groomed her dogs and cats to look like lions, It was actually cute. But that poor dog has no protection. He didn't need to shave it all the way down.
Shibu's are double insulated. There fur keeps them warm and cool. They are very susceptible to getting skin cancer. They should never ever be shaved. Brushing them regularly is the best grooming you can do for them. This is a sad sight and a careless un-knowledgeable selfish owner.
