George Lews Jr, better known as Twin Shadow, first came to our attention in the fall of 2010 with his debut album “Forget,” a record that perfectly captured the gothic longing often associated with that season. He’s now back a year and a half later with that record’s follow-up, “Confess.” From the sound of first single, “Five Seconds,” it’s going to be a slightly more touched up affair. its aura slightly fuller than the foggy atmosphere of its predecessor. This is not necessarily a drawback however; one of Lewis’ greatest weapons is his voice — placed firmly in the front of the mix, it has a low and passionate timbre that splits the difference between Robert Smith and Morrissey quite well.
“Confess” will be out July 10 on 4AD. Check out “Five Seconds” below.
