Racist NY Post writer defends comments about Jay-Z and the Brooklyn Nets, fails miserably

In case you missed it, over the weekend New York Post sportswriter Phil Mushnick said some outrageously racist shit that would – should a non-conservative newspaper have published it – have gotten most anyone else fired.

“As long as the Nets are allowing Jay-Z to call their marketing shots…why not have him apply the full Jay-Z treatment? Why the Brooklyn Nets when they can be the New York N—-s. The cheerleaders could be the Brooklyn B—hes or H—. Team logo? A 9 mm with hollow-tip shell casings strewn beneath. Wanna be Jay-Z hip? Then go all the way!”

First off – what a colossal dick. Second, Brooklyn Bitches is already taken, man, so it might take some time to get that domain name. Third, has Phil Mushnick listened to a Jay-Z song from this century? Jay-Z is the Steven Spielberg of hip-hop – more of a populist than anything else – and hasn’t exactly talked about “bitches and hoes” since 2001.

Didn’t anyone at the Post say anything? Think of the copy editors, the actual editors, not to mention advertisers, who let this kind of thing fly. What kind of message does this send to a kid growing up in New York?

Mushnick responded (kind of) on sports website Bob’s Blitz because he is a classy individual who drops n-bombs and runs and hides behind a C-level sports blog.

Bob – Such obvious, wishful and ignorant mischaracterizations of what I write are common. I don’t call black men the N-word; I don’t regard young women as bitches and whores; I don’t glorify the use of assault weapons and drugs. Jay-Z, on the other hand…..Is he the only NBA owner allowed to call black men N—ers?”

Jay-Z profits from the worst and most sustaining self-enslaving stereotypes of black-American culture and I’M the racist? Some truths, I guess, are just hard to read, let alone think about.

Ok. First, its in print that Phil called the Brooklyn Nets “ni**ers” (in print!), and he also said that the cheerleaders are “bitches” in the same sentence. It’s like he didn’t even read his own article. Second, if you’re a white guy, you just don’t get to say “ni**er”. It’s just not done. Don’t make me explain slavery. Phil Mushnick is an adult. He should know better. He sounds like a guy with a kind of Bugs Bunny complex – a person who thinks he is being a wise-ass for the sake of a greater good, yet is, in actuality, just an asshole who thinks he can get away with bad behavior.

Phil, have you ever been to a bar where there’s just a guy bullying everyone by yelling at them? You’re that guy. You’re that guy in a city as big as New York. That’s quite a feat.

Mushnick should be fired immediately but I doubt the Post will make the move and actually do so – enough small minded folk read his column to warrant his tenure at the paper. Yet does this kind of irresponsible, dickish, and downright horrible hatespeech have to be tolerated?

"99 Problems and a bitch ain't one is a joke, bait for lazy critics. At no point in the song am I talking about a girl. The chorus really makes that clear if you bother listening…I knew someone, somewhere would say, 'Aha, there he goes talking about them hoes and bitches again!' And strangely, this struck me as deeply funny." – Jay-Z, "Decoded" page 56

"Now once upon a time not too long ago
A nigga like myself had to strong arm a hoe
This is not a hoe in the sense of havin a pussy
But a pussy havin' no God Damn sense, try and push me"

Yes, Jay-Z specifically says that a hoe is not necessarily a woman. Therefore we can assume the same about "bitch". Although the syntactic context of "bitch" in the chorus makes that doubtful…

But I can't believe someone is arguing about semantics. The last time Jay-z used these terms in a derogatory fashion is besides the point. Dude was still racist, the lyrics to 99 Problems doesn't change that.

Don't dignify this shit with a response.

You see, these petitions don't get picked up by the media because they want to act like black people are okay with this.

Everyone who is so "outraged" by this story was just as, if not more, amused and entertained by it as anyone else. It didn't ruin your day it gave you somethin to talk about! You know its true!

Everybody says there is this RACE problem. Everybody says this RACE problem will be solved when the third world pours into EVERY White country and ONLY into White countries.
The Netherlands and Belgium are just as crowded as Japan or Taiwan, but nobody says Japan or Taiwan will solve this RACE problem by bringing in millions of third worlders and quote assimilating unquote with them.

Everybody says the final solution to this RACE problem is for EVERY White country and ONLY White countries to "assimilate," i.e., intermarry, with all those non-Whites.

What if I said there was this RACE problem and this RACE problem would be solved only if hundreds of millions of non-Blacks were brought into EVERY Black country and ONLY into Black countries?

How long would it take anyone to realize I'm not talking about a RACE problem. I am talking about the final solution to the BLACK problem?

And how long would it take any sane Black man to notice this and what kind of psycho Black man wouldn't object to this?

But if I tell that obvious truth about the ongoing program of genocide against my race, the White race, Liberals and respectable conservatives agree that I am a naziwhowantstokillsixmillionjews.

They say they are anti-racist. What they are is anti-White.

    Anti-racist is a code word for anti-White.

I think he was misunderstood. He was trying to say what he thought jay z as a person he knew would say. Not as a race. He may not know what jay z represents himself as now (he is trying to be more positive)

As for the n word. It belongs to no one or everyone. It's a racist word through an through. Even if the black culture says it, it shouldn't be good. It means slave and no one should be a slave or called as one. I feel that as a whole it shouldn't be said by anyone.

It's the fact that he talked that way and used those words and THEN tried to say he didn't say them; Jay Z said them :/ totally stupid.

I think it's ironic that every person posting here is [by a quick check of your 8 profiles] white… and the author of this column is white… [food for thought]. The very idea that there is a word that I can't use because it makes me sound bad, but other people; of a different skin color, can use it as a greeting is disgusting and at its core racist equality doesn't mean making laws that favor specific people because of their Gender Race or Sexuality. in fact that is inequality against Joe Blow. The whole principle of the American dream is to give you a shot to make something of yourself, not a springboard to success, stockades to place your detractors in. Our constitution guarantees the pursuit of happiness, not happiness itself. people in this world are racist, in other countries people are racist. you cannot stomp out racism with laws or even awareness. the best you can do is to live your life as an example to others.
