Passion Pit stream new single, ‘Take A Walk’

Passion Pit are set to follow up their monster 2009 debut full-length “Manners” with a sophomore effort, “Gossamer.” This morning we get the first taste from the new record in the form lead single “Take A Walk.”

Passion Pit‘s ebullient synths are intact here with a driving, if not quite danceable beat. Fans of the band’s earlier work like the 2008 “Sleepyhead” might be disappointed to hear Michael Angelakos’ voice has more or less evolved entirely out its original signature whine. But while the vocal has a mainstream-palatable style here, he keeps the doubled falsetto and mild distortion that make the band sound like Passion Pit.

Take a listen below—”Gossamer” will be out July 24 on Columbia.
