A group of artists associated with the clothing company Entree Lifestyle have created a touching monument to Beastie Boys maestro Adam Yauch (MCA), in Brooklyn.
Shortly after Adam Yauch died last Friday someone on the internet commented, “MCA can finally sleep, having arrived in Brooklyn.” Aside from being a clever homage to “No Sleep Til Brooklyn” the comment embodied NYC’s love for the Beasties and its pride in being their home.
Yauch was instrumental in pushing the band beyond satirizing frat-boy culture to genuine positivity, humility and gratitude. Entree Lifestyle shows its own gratitude for Yauch in a uniquely New York medium. Kudos.
