Producer Mike Dean says ‘Watch The Throne 2′ is on the way

In an intimate interview with Quiet Lunch at Jungle City Studios in Chelsea, producer Mike Dean never takes off his shades as he runs through some of his favorite artists to work with, his thoughts on the state of hip-hop, and naturally, current working projects.

The Grammy award-winning mix master behind the “Dirty South” sound has worked alongside Kanye West on his three most recent solo albums, “Late Registration,” “Graduation,” and “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy,” but also teamed up with the Jay & Ye tag team for last summer’s “Watch The Throne.” Fortunately for “Throne” fans, it sounds like a sequel is in the works.

When asked about projects currently in the making, Dean replied, “Working on the G.O.O.D. music album (“Cruel Summer”) of course. ‘Watch The Throne 2;’ it’s not started yet, but it’s coming.”

His voice barely rises above a tired mumble, but the words alone are enough to get the hip-hop world buzzing. After last year’s album dropped, Kanye and “Big Brother” Jay went on an extravagant tour of the U.S. and a few Canadian cities, which usually featured “N***as In Paris” being played upwards of 11 times. As of last weekend, the duo are embarking on the European leg of The Throne tour with back-to-back nights in Paris.

As if anyone would’ve expected otherwise.
