Just when we were all settling into revering New York’s Sponge Bob as the world’s fattest cat, Garfield over here had to ride into town on his white kitty scale and prove that he’s the fattest cat—by a lot.

According to People, Sponge Bob weighs 33 lbs, whereas according to the scale on this photograph from Daily Mail, Garfield weighs 39.75 lbs, about the size of a four-year-old human. For now, Garfield resides at the North Shore Animal League of America in Port Washington, Long Island, where he’s waiting solemnly for another cat to question his supreme dominance as fattest kitty of all the lands.
