We knew it was going to get bad, but we didn’t think it would go all Jenny Humphrey this quickly: today, the Mitt Romney campaign created a fake Twitter account for Bill Clinton.
In the last hour, the account has tweeted six times, all referencing either recent Bill Clinton quotes about Romney’s “sterling” career at Bain Capital or lukewarm comments Clinton made during the 2008 Democratic primary process. Things like:
In my humble opinion, the time
@MittRomney spent at Bain Capital was a good business career.
or:
A vote for
@BarackObama is a crap shoot – a roll of the dice.
or my favorite:
Oopsies! Politico: “Clinton breaks with Obama over Bush tax cuts”
While the bio on the account clearly spells out that it’s a parody, its shoddy grammar, slipshod design and 1992-Clinton-playing-sax-on-Arsenio avatar make it look like a parody of the Romney campaign. We’ll be updating you on any flash mobs or naked Photoshops the Obama camp issues in retaliation.
XOXO,
Gossip Girl
