Today is the first annual National Jerky Day, folks, and it’s not too late to run to the drugstore and pick up a few packs of savory Jack Link’s beef jerky for dinner.
If that sounded like a commercial, it’s okay, because Jack Link’s is certainly celebrating this holiday with unmatched gusto. The company commissioned renowned mosaic artist Jason Mecier to create the above mosaic of the sasquatch in their beef jerky commercials from 80 bags of beef jerky.
Based on its expression, the sasquatch is feeling pretty cute about having his picture done in jerky. As he should. Now check out some other meat art. And remember to floss.
1. Dried Polish Sausage Recorder

This fully functional sausage recorder was created by artist Adam Niklewicz, who says on his website, “The work is a reflection upon Polish psyche.” There is also a recording of a song on the wind instrument. Do check it out.
2. Meat Lisa

Russian artist Aleksandr Solomko, who works extensively with meat, reproduced Mona Lisa with 20 kilograms of sliced sausage. She looks pretty pleased about it too.

3. Raw Abe Lincoln

Philadelphia artist Dominic Episcopo carves famous profiles, states and symbols out of raw meat. He even did a profile of Michael Jackson out of a raw calf liver. Yummy!
