Body Parts haven’t received much press yet, which is a shame—their single “Doing Things,” released on last year’s EP “On Purpose,” is one of the most charmingly spastic and inventive tunes we’ve heard in a while. Hopefully their new video for the track which is equally as inventive in a distinctly lo-fi way, will start to change that.

The band’s press material cites Prince as an inspiration, but watching the video it’s hard not to place Body Parts somewhere in between Dirty Projectors and Talking Heads. If you’re not curious by now, you’re just crazy.

Check out the video below – directed by Dave Seger – then check out the rest of the EP and pick up a copy at at band camp. Their new EP “Fire Dream” will be out in early 2013. 2012 isn’t even’t half over yet, but these guys are already on our list of bands to watch next year.
