Look at the little rascal the city council of Launceston, Tasmania found during a recent video survey of suburban storm pipes. It’s a wombat, a marsupial native to Australia, and it was using the storm drain as a winter home until officials caught it on camera and evicted it by blocking the pipe.

“Sometimes in these videos you see the odd rat or spider, but this is the first time I’ve seen a wombat,” the engineering development officer Sonia Smith who found the little guy told The Examiner.
