Coinciding with the release of the futuristic apocalypse film “AUN,” an Austrian/Japanese production, Christian Fennesz is set to drop his score to the film, also titled “AUN.”
The film was directed by Edgar Honetschlägerm that “tells the story of mankind’s quest for the future, his desire to create the tomorrow, his fear of and loathing for the apocalypse.” According to the “AUN” website, “The Japanese scientist Sekai (the world), seeking a bright future for mankind, invents a motor that burns water.” The story revolves around a sea snail found by his son, Aun (the beginning and end of all things), and features the Japanese Yakuza and supernatural creatures, amongst other things.
Fennesz’s original score is comprised of 12 new compositions, plus three tracks from his 2007 album “Cendre,” a collaboration with Ryuichi Sakamoto.
