The meme is an interesting thing. It has long been the domain of hackers and gleefully amateur photoshop artists. Anonymous and LulzSec, for instance, have long used it to great effect. Its populist humor disguises its subtlety—a subtlety that was apparently lost on a group of anonymous Christians who attempted to make some memes of their own.
The group American Atheists tweeted the miserable fail for all to see:

For instance, one meme states, “Finds a watch in the ocean… says it evolved from the ocean.” A laugh riot! Then there is “Doesn’t date theist women… secretly has sex with your Christian mother.” Rather racy for Christians, to be sure. However, they might have considered substituting “fucks” for “has sex”—it just has a better ring to it.
