New Dinosaur Jr. track ‘Watch the Corners’

Dinossaur Jr. are now three albums deep into their original lineup’s reunion, proving to be one of the most prosperous in the indie rock spectrum (or at least at a tie with Mission of Burma). “I Bet On Sky” is out on September 17 on Jagjaguwar but you can stream a track from it early over at Rolling Stone.

“Watch the Corners” is classic Dino mid-tempo head-bobbing alternative rock, a style J Mascis and company seem to have an endless supply of. But whereas past opening singles by the group are usually fast paced and filled with sunny, skateboarding energy, “Watch the Corners” works within the band’s more laid back side, like on past favorites like “Get Me” or “What Else is New?” but with a sweet acoustic breakdown in the middle, as well as a victorious guitar solo coda much like on “Farm” standout “I Don’t Wanna Go There.”

Be on the lookout for a new record from Dinosaur bassist Lou Barlow‘s other amazing band Sebadoh as well, that’s progress has been getting live-blogged by Jason Loewenstein. More info on that as it comes to us.
