Tilly and the Wall return with a new album ‘Heavy Mood’

The tap-dancing, gang vocalizing, indie pop group Tilly and the Wall are at last returning this year with a new album. Having faded from the scene four years ago after the release of their third album “o,” the Omaha band will be releasing their fourth album “Heavy Mood” on October 2 via buddy Conor Oberst‘s Team Love label. It will feature contributions from Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Nick Zinner and The Faint’s Clark Baechle, among others.

Oberst had originally worked with members of the group before they even had a record out, with singers Neely Jenkins and keyboardist Nick White both appearing on early Bright Eyes albums. Their sweet and dangerously catchy original material, though, has made for a couple of understated ’00s indie gems in their albums “Wild Like Children” and “Bottoms of Barrels.”
