Lil B has just released a new mixtape out of the blue called “848-Song Based Freestyle Mixtape”—and as if that weren’t ambitious-sounding enough, he actually delivers 855 songs instead of 848. He must have lost count somewhere along the way—and who can blame him.
This is the second mixtape has released in three months, having dropped “The Basedprint II” mixtape to commemorate his NYU speech before graduation in May.
Which brings me to a question I’ve always had about especially prolific artists like say, Bob Dylan or Robert Pollard: How the hell do they remember the lyrics to all those songs? Sure, Lil B is known for songs that repeat a person’s name ad nauseum, like Ellen Degeneres, but his newer songs tend to have more words—and again, he just released 855 of them.
