England’s favorite budding electro-pop star Charli XCX released a new video for her single “You’re the One,” title track of a new 2-song EP.
“You’re the One” isn’t her first video, but it’s the first high-gloss fancy-production video that finds her dancing, as Vulture points out, in a warehouse alone a la Robyn’s “Call Your Girlfriend” video.
Despite her thoroughly contemporary sound of dark R&B and electro elements fused with classic synth-pop, There’s something charmingly ’90s the video. Maybe it’s the combat boots with the fluffy white dress, or the expertly torn knee of her black jeans. Whatever combination she’s coming up with, it’s working—without even releasing a debut full-length she’s managed to attract tons attention. Check here for a Balam Acab remix of “Nuclear Sessions.”
