June proved to be a fundraising boon for Mitt Romney. The GOP candidate raised, along with his Romney Victory fund and the Republican National Committee, raised over $100 million in June.
The Romney campaign claims much of the $100 million is comprised of new donors, which may have something to do with the Supreme Court rulings on the Affordable Healthcare Act and Arizona’s racial profiling immigration law. Romney also out fundraised Obama in May by bringing in $77 million, no doubt a result of super PAC fundraising.
At this rate, President Obama could be the first incumbent president outspent by his opponent in American history. Frightening, really, to imagine that middle class voters actually believe Romney cares about them, since his Bain dealings demonstrate a clear disdain for everyone aside from the rich.
