Check out The Shins’ ‘It’s Only Life’ video

There’s a certain childhood nostalgic feeling that comes off of The Shins‘ “It’s Only Life,” a highlight from their latest album, “Port of Morrow” with its jangling piano and reflective balladry. The song’s new video matches the tune’s sentiments nicely with a setting that seems to be straight out of the backyard imaginations of pre-adolescent boys.

In it we see the adventures of a child playing around in a suburban town completely devoid of any other beings aside from a group of hooded demons dragging James Mercer around by the feet. Somewhere between the “Where is Everybody?” episode of “The Twilight Zone” and M. Night Shyamalan’s “The Village,” it’s not a typical clip, but a good one nonetheless. Check it out below.
