The xx stream ‘Angels’ off their new album ‘Coexist’

And it’s a simple yet amazing love song.

The xx teases us with a new song off their hotly anticipated album “Coexist” via Facebook. “Angels” is a simple love song ballad that opens up the album. It has a simple but melodic guitar riff that starts off the song leading into Romy Madley Croft’s open devotion to someone. While The xx have previously admitted that the new album will be more “poppy” than their first, listeners will not find that in “Angels.” What they will find, however, is a beautifully crafted song that makes us even more excited to hear the rest of the album (if that’s possible).

Here is an accompanying video via NPR.
