Syria. The very name alone instills fear in the hearts of men. Why? Because they’ve had a year-long massacre that shows no signs of ending, plus the backing of Russia and China. It’s an international relations clusterfuck. I can’t even think of an analogy that might even begin to make the violence make sense.

Up until not too long ago Iraq itself was a veritable warzone (because of a war! hey!) and now they are telling their citizens to get out of Syria for their own safety. That is kind of like Keith Richards telling you to ease off the drugs, or Kim Kardashian telling you to be classier. 237 people were killed in Syria last month alone with UN estimates of 25,000 killed since the uprising began in March of 2011.

The Iraqi cabinet voiced concern about the “increasing incidents of murder and assault on Iraqis living in Syria,” government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said in a statement.

“The Iraqi government calls on them to come home,” the statement said, adding that Iraqi authorities would secure all means for their return from Syria.
