Nigel Godrich, known to many as the unofficial sixth member of Radiohead, has finally got a band to call his own. Ultraísta consists of himself, world class session musician and brother to That Dog’s Anna, Joey Waronker, and industry newbie Laura Bettinson. They’ve released two videos so far but now they will finally be dropping their debut self-titled album October 2 via Temporary Residence.

A mixture of Eno rhythms, lush synths and entrancing melodies, the group was apparently brought together by a mutual love of “Afrobeat, electronic and dance music, visual art and tequila.” Seems like a decent cocktail for some good music of their own.
