As part of its “Singles Program,” Adult Swim released a new The Field (real name Axel Willner) track titled “Cornelius Garden.” The track is streaming over at Adult Swim’s website and also available for free download. The track is fairly typical of The Field (at first)—hypnotic micro-samples and percussion laden with delay. But Willner suffuses his micro-stylings with the melodic sensibility of early trance, and pushes the song into a variety of other corridors that are by turns loungey and Chicago house-influenced. It’s really rather tremendous.
