Crystal Castles return with a new song, ‘Plague’, possibly an introduction to their third album which is tentatively out this summer. It starts out with an ominous intro with Alice Glass singing slowly over the beat. It does not take long for Ethan Kath to do what he does best; create a distorted beat for Glass to scream over.
The slower parts of the song remind me of their earlier track ‘Vietnam’ while the distorted part is a lot more like the intro to ‘Baptism’. Overall it is a solid release that will probably not win over any new fans, but will entertain and excite those who already love their unique sound.
