We know, we know—that picture is tough to look at. The cover art for St Vincent and David Byrne’s upcoming collaboration album “Love This Giant” is bizarre. Thankfully this new track is easier to listen to.

So far the pair released the track “Who” for free download and now they tease another one, “Weekend in the Dust,” which is probably unrelated to the drought turning most of the nation into a dustbowl but still sounds topically relevant nonetheless.

There’s not a ton of melody here to latch onto, but layers and layers of funky goodness: baritone sax, trombone, staccato drums and enough strata of St. Vincent’s vocal harmony to keep it interesting.
