Passion Pit’s new ‘Constant Conversations’ video stars Peter Bogdanovich

Pater Bogdanovich is a little like the film world’s JD Salinger—he made a flurry of absolute classics and then disappeared for long stretches, leaving everyone scratching their heads. But what’s fun about Bogdanovich is that, instead of completely disappearing insto a cabin in New Hampshire, he’ll occasionally pop up in “The Sopranos” or the new Passion Pit video, as the case may be.

In the new clip for “Constant Conversations” Bogdanovich plays a character that seems to be some amalgam of Don Corleone at the wedding scene in “The Godfather” and one of the sloppy, forlorn adults at Benjamin’s graduation party in “The Graduate”—except without a wedding or a graduation, and with a lot more booze and suggested sex. Singer Michael Angelakos plays his son, apparently home for a debauched house party of some kind. And though he doesn’t really say much he’s actually a pretty expressive actor.

We don’t know anything about how this “Gossamer” cameo came up for Bogdanovich, but the director does have a new movie “Squirrel To The Nuts” going into production this fall, with Wes Anderson and Noah Baumbach producing.

Very cool video! I'm hoping they do one for It'll Be Alright…that's my all-time favorite song from them. Either way, their album is amazing, and there's no question why they're getting such positive press from it. Just came across a great article written on them by Pitchfork http://pitchfork.com/features/cover-story/reader/passion-pit/.
