
The Conor Oberst led post-punk band Desaparecidos are at it again after 10 years of hiatus. Building on the back of their reunion show in 2010 to protest Arizona’s ridiculous SB1070 bill aimed at illegal immigrants, Oberst’s old band decided to get back together and record some new material. The new song is classic Desaparecidos. It is as angry as it is loud. Desaparecidos has always been a way for Oberst to express his political opinions via a more angry, punk sound. “MariKKKopa” is no different, taking aim straight at the legally-strapped Sheriff Joe Arpaio. The song even ends with the sheriff comparing his movement to the KKK in a positive way. Listen for yourself below.
